So even if you find SAT math 2 easy, that does not mean HL and further math is within your grasp.Ĭontinue this thread level 1 Alumni 43 3 points 2 years ago edited 2 years ago Honestly Not really worth it, if you ask me. This is because although they test you on a lot of topics, they literally scratch the surface for each. The level of content in there is similar to SL Math or even slightly easier if you ask me. My opinion (take it from a SL math scrub): Do the SAT math II test and see if its too hard. If you are thinking about going to Oxbridge, self studying the A Level Further maths syllabus would be better than doing IB further maths. You should also study for STEP and MAT if you want to go to Oxbridge(respectively). If you want to show youre good to universities, math Olympiads are the number one thing you should go for. If youre doing a bilingual diploma (2 language A subjects) with the addition of further maths then there would be no time for social life or CAS. In context of UK colleges (particularly Oxbridge), would taking Further Maths be impressive Is the idea of taking 5 HLs a good one 25 comments share save hide report 100 Upvoted This thread is archived New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast Sort by best level 1 8 points 2 years ago I can only say that it will be a lot of work. I have background in Geometry, Calculus, and Discrete from IMO training, AP Calc studying, and Competitive Programming respectively, which leaves just set theory, linear alg, and stat to study a ton for.
